I read a few other reviews and it does seem like the consensus is that this book needed re-edited. There were many spelling and gramatical errors throughout. Fortunately, the story was so captivating I was able to see beyond the issues and stay in it.
Normally, I don't like when multiple worlds collide but I thought this was done in a way where a lay-person could understand the situation so big props to the author on accomplishing this. I hope with the addition of the gods things don't get overly complicated in book two.
The only part I had a hard time with was how nasty the MMC KingFisher was to his mate!!! I think maybe if Callie Hart had played up KingFisher's torture in hell and being driven crazy by the quicksilver more I could have gotten on board with all the hate he spews towards Saeris. Like he was so crazy and lost he didn't realize what he was doing. BUT noooo he knew who she was the entire time and choose to treat her like garbage. Ew. He does redeem himself for me when he tells her the butterfly backstory though. Super romantic and swoon worthy little speech. I'm excited to see where Hart takes this.

How are more people not talking about this book?!?! I can‘t believe this is only rated 3.8 on Goodreads!
This was just what the doctor ordered, no 3rd act drama between the MC's and SUPER spicy. Nate Hawkins & Anastasia Allen were absolute perfection. I loved how Hannah Grace wrote these character, their maturity and ability to communicate with one another was an absolute chefs kiss. I appreciated the author including mental health into her FMC's story.
I laughed more than I thought I would with this one and I can say with absolute certainty that I will be doing a re-read on this in the future.

My first thought when thinking of this book is it was a lot darker than I was expecting. Here I was thinking I was getting myself into a witchy romcom and instead wound up uncovering a hidden murder. As far as labeling this a romcom there were some funny moments but it severely lacked romance. There was no relationship development, it was two kids hooking up followed by a falling out and then hooking up again years later. I think the MMC Rhys Penhallow could care less one way or the other about the FMC Vivienne Jones. He let her go initially and (spoiler alert) lets her go AGAIN after they reconnect years later. It was never revealed what happened with Rhys and his betrothed he's just single when he strolls back into town. There's just not a whole lot of story development between the main characters which is NOT what I want in my romance books. Basically, an average read for me - didn't love it and didn't hate it.
